When you look at my paintings you will see the influence of colour came from Matisse and passion came from Van Gogh. I love these Masters but I am also in love with Dali whose house in Port Lligat and Museum in Cadaques I have visited many times. You can see his influence where he stars in my novel but also in a few surreal paintings.
I have run many Painting Holidays in Languedoc, France where I have been attracted to paint vineyards, chateaux and, of course, Collioure, where Matisse invented Fauvism. The many people who have come on my painting holidays have also found the area an amazing creative inspiration which led to group exhibitions of our art at Courtyard Arts in Hertford. This became a great thing about my painting holidays as people could paint and then exhibit their work in a beautiful gallery afterwards.
